MICHAEL ROSS

Co-Owner | Director | Building Designer
Michael is a founding partner of MR Designs. Having graduated QUT in 2012, he has extensive experience across a broad range of projects, with his early years focused on residential design and drafting, then followed by time working in a commercial fit out company. Today, Michael specialises in residential designs such as new homes, townhouses and Queenslander renovations, in addition to his expert knowledge of commercial and educational projects. Michael’s passion for building design began at a young age. He often found himself on construction sites, as his parents always built their own homes. This experience led to Michael developing a passion for design and construction. Michael says one of the most rewarding aspects of being a designer is seeing the final result accompanied with happy clients. Standing in front of a home that you have designed is extremely satisfying, but watching clients’ dreams made into reality is priceless. Outside of work, Michael enjoys spending time with friends and family, especially by the beach.

HAYDN RUYSCH

With a deep appreciation for traditional Queensland homes, his knack for balancing traditional and modern design elements is quite unique. Haydn has been involved with and led some truly remarkable projects. Outside of work, Haydn enjoys camping, travelling, and has visited over 30 different countries so far, always looking for the next adventure.

Cailin Mackey

His true passion lies in residential design, where he thrives on helping clients realize their dream homes. Known for his creativity, leadership, and attention to detail, he ensures clients feel confident throughout the design and construction process. Michael, Ryan, Haydn and the MR Team have been a pleasure to work with.
They deliver designs that are dynamic, creative and well suited to every clients needs whilst being timely and affordable. We find the team professional, highly experienced and super friendly. Karda Constructions

As a town planner, I have worked with the guys at MR Designs as individuals
for almost 10 years ... and collectively since they joined forces a few years
ago. What I love most about working with MR is their consistent down to earth and practical approach. Nothing ever seems too much trouble for the guys, which helps to take the confusion/stress out of the design process for clients.

Peta Charles

Brisbane Town Planning

We have absolutely loved working with Michael on our renovation in Sherwood. Michael has worked with us every step of the way from the very first site visit through to conceptual design and planning and all the way through to construction.

Michael and his team have patiently and enthusiastically accommodated all of our questions and changes and their ability to come up with creative and innovative solutions to design problems has helped turn our vision into an amazing dream home for our family. We cannot speak more highly of Michael and his team.

Andrew and Sarah Bennett, Sherwood Raise & Build

MR Design & Drafting are hands down the best to deal with as well as
providing quality plans for our trades to work off! Cannot speak highly enough of them.

Tom Lelasi

IN MEMORY OF

Ryan Grose was a co-founding partner of MR Design, which has since been rebranded as 'Michael and Ruysch Building Design', and brought more than 13 years experience in residential building design to the team. Ryan worked in established design firms across all project types, but specialised in townhouses and multiple dwellings, new home designs and Queenslander renovations, bringing his distinct flair to every project.

Design was always a strong passion for Ryan, which developed into a passion and profession – a natural progression and a perfect fit to pursue building design as a career. Ryan loved the idea that he could create spaces or designs that would be enjoyed by somebody or a family for decades. He was continually inspired by the evolution of the industry that allows designers to create beautiful pieces of livable art, where one is only limited by their creativity.

Sadly in 2019 Ryan passed away in his long battle with cancer. His memory and legacy will always live on at 'Michael and Ruysch Building Design' and the team will forever be grateful for all Ryan taught us.
